Fort Wayne Community Schools has recently established a new collaboration with the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne and Champions of Greater Fort Wayne. This partnership aims to offer comprehensive childcare services before and after school for elementary students from pre-K through fifth grade, enhancing support for families within the community.

In other activities, students at five elementary schools within the Fort Wayne Community Schools district, along with all middle schools, will engage in events over the next two weeks to promote cycling as a mode of transportation to school. These activities are part of an initiative to encourage healthy and sustainable commuting options among young students.

On April 28, the Fort Wayne Community Schools Board of School Trustees approved several new administrative appointments, marking another step in strengthening the leadership within the district’s educational framework.

Additionally, Fort Wayne Community Schools’ 11 middle schools and the Fort Wayne Virtual Academy are organizing 6th Grade Orientation and Open House events.
