Today, Congressman Jim Baird of Indiana’s Fourth Congressional District expressed his approval following the passage of President Trump’s “One Big, Beautiful Bill” by the U.S. House of Representatives. The bill aims to provide significant tax cuts and is described as delivering “the largest tax cut in American history.”
Congressman Baird stated, “I was proud to vote for the One Big, Beautiful Bill. It is a win for Hoosiers and the American people and codifies President Trump’s successful agenda.” He emphasized that the bill provides historic tax relief, eliminates taxes on tips and overtime, invests in military and border security, authorizes completion of the border wall, and supports farmers by reducing their taxes by $10 billion.
The legislation also seeks to enhance investment in crop insurance and farm safety nets to help farmers compete globally. Baird noted that supporting this bill would address issues such as waste, fraud, and abuse while ensuring federal benefits reach those who need them.
Baird highlighted potential financial impacts on families if these tax cuts were not implemented: “Without these historic tax cuts…the average family in Indiana’s Fourth Congressional District faces a $1,548 tax hike.” He urged swift Senate action to advance the bill to President Trump’s desk for enactment.
