Fort Wayne Community Schools announced on April 7 that its 11 middle schools and the Fort Wayne Virtual Academy will hold Sixth Grade Orientation events starting this month.
The orientations aim to help incoming sixth graders and their families become familiar with their new school environments, schedules, and expectations as they prepare for the transition from elementary to middle school.
In addition to the sixth grade orientation, families with younger children can attend Passport to Pre-K, which is scheduled for March 11 from 5-7 p.m. at North Side High School. This event is designed to help prepare young learners for preschool.
The district also reported that more than 200 graduates who earned their diplomas in 2025 through the Adult and Continuing Education Department will be honored at a graduation ceremony on March 4 at North Side High School. Furthermore, hundreds of students are set to participate in the upcoming SkillsUSA Regional Competition, representing future workforce talent in Northeast Indiana.
Eighth and ninth graders are invited by Fort Wayne Community Schools to attend Freshman Orientation and the Schools of Success Showcase as part of ongoing efforts to support student transitions throughout key educational stages.
