Jim Banks, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Indiana’s 3rd district since 2017, has recently expressed his views on several topics through social media posts. Born in Columbia City, Indiana, in 1979, Banks graduated from Indiana University Bloomington in 2004 and previously served in the Indiana Senate from 2010 to 2016.

On March 6, 2025, Jim Banks tweeted his stance on federal education policy with a call to “Eliminate the federal department of education!”

Later that day, he shared his support for former President Trump by stating that “President Trump is renewing the hope of the American Dream.” He praised the administration’s commitment to working families and encouraged readers to learn more about it.

In another tweet posted on March 6, Banks expressed enthusiasm for developments in Carmel while meeting with Mayor Sue Finkam. He noted that it was “Always great to see my friend Mayor @SueFinkam . Big things happening in Carmel!”
