Senator Jim Banks has recently shared his views on various political issues through a series of tweets. These posts, dated June 8 and June 9, 2025, cover topics ranging from President Trump’s legislative proposals to critiques of public figures and political parties.

On June 8, Senator Banks addressed the opposition to President Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill,” particularly those on the right who cite deficit concerns. He argued that these opponents should acknowledge that without the bill’s passage, taxes would significantly increase by an average of $3,000 per family to address the deficit. He urged Congress to focus on cutting spending instead. The original post can be viewed here.

Later that day, Senator Banks made a brief remark about California Governor Gavin Newsom with a tweet stating: “Gavin Newsom for President of Mexico!”. This comment appears to be a satirical jab at Governor Newsom.

On June 9, Senator Banks commented on an ICE operation involving the arrest of a gang member and pedophile. His tweet criticized wealthy Democrats with the statement: “Wealthy Democrats: Oh no! Who will shuck the oysters and fluff our beach towels?!”, suggesting a disconnect between their rhetoric and actions regarding immigration enforcement.
