Rep. Marlin Stutzman, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Indiana, has recently used his social media platform to discuss legislative efforts related to digital assets and government spending.

On July 18, 2025, Stutzman emphasized the importance of proposed legislation regarding digital currencies, stating in a post: “The Anti-CBDC Surveillance Act is a critical safeguard to keep control of digital asset policy with the American people, not the administrative state. This is about defending privacy, individual freedom, and free market innovation.”

Later that day, he addressed federal budget concerns and called for further action on government spending. In another post dated July 18, 2025, Stutzman wrote: “While this rescissions package is a good start, there is more waste, fraud, and abuse that must be addressed and removed in future packages. I encourage the administration to continue rescinding appropriated funds so the American people are not forced to pay for the policy faux”.

In a subsequent post on July 18, 2025, Stutzman referenced several legislative initiatives aimed at supporting cryptocurrency innovation while limiting government intervention. He stated: “The CLARITY Act, the GENIUS Act, and the Anti-CBDC Surveillance State Act will put America back on track for crypto innovation and market protection without fear of government overreach. With this legislation and President Trump’s leadership, the U.S. is poised to become the”.

Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) have been debated in Congress as lawmakers consider their potential impact on privacy and financial autonomy. The Anti-CBDC Surveillance Act seeks to prevent federal agencies from issuing CBDCs without explicit authorization from Congress or infringing upon citizens’ financial privacy rights. Additionally, legislative efforts such as rescission packages are designed to reduce unnecessary federal expenditures by canceling previously approved funds.

Stutzman’s recent posts reflect ongoing debates in Washington over digital asset regulation and fiscal responsibility.
