Senator Jim Banks, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Indiana’s 3rd district, recently shared a series of tweets discussing various topics ranging from sports to national security and immigration law.

On June 3, 2025, Senator Banks commented on an issue involving Angel Reese and the WNBA, expressing that “There never should have been an ‘investigation’. It was all bogus.” He further stated that both Angel Reese and the WNBA owe an apology to Indiana Fever fans. Banks discussed this matter with Dan Dakich.

Later on the same day, Banks shared his engagement with Palmer Luckey, highlighting Luckey’s investments in Indiana. The senator remarked that it was “Great to visit with @PalmerLuckey today.” He emphasized Luckey’s role in advancing military technology to maintain global superiority.

On June 4, 2025, Senator Banks addressed border security issues via Twitter. He underscored the importance of border security as a component of national security. He pointed out limitations under current law regarding penalties for visa overstayers and advocated for legislative change by promoting his proposed Visas Overstay Penalties Act. According to him, “Border security is national security first and foremost.”

Jim Banks has been a member of Congress since replacing Marlin Stutzman in 2017. Prior to his congressional service, he served in the Indiana Senate from 2010 until 2016. Born in Columbia City, Indiana in 1979, he holds a BA from Indiana University Bloomington.
