Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control (FWACC) is seeking assistance from the community to find homes for an influx of kittens and to solicit donations for the Angel Fund. Over the next four weeks, 160 kittens from the FWACC foster program will return to the shelter for state-required spay/neuter surgeries and other necessary medical care.
As the number of animals entering the shelter rises, FWACC leaders estimate they will care for over 6,000 cats by year-end. The Angel Fund plays a vital role in providing life-saving medical care and covering costs associated with spay/neuter surgeries.
As northeast Indiana’s largest open-access shelter, FWACC cannot refuse animals brought in from Allen County. The Angel Fund is used daily to ensure these animals receive required medical treatments before they become available for adoption.
Prospective adopters can view available animals and complete an adoption application at fwacc.org or fill out an application upon arrival at the shelter. All adoptions operate on a first-come, first-served basis.
