Due to the construction of the Covington Road Trail, Covington Road will be closed between Hadley Road and the east entrance to Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery beginning Monday, August 5, earlier than originally planned. Covington Road is expected to be closed for two months. There will also be lane restrictions between the Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery entrance and Getz Road for the same duration.
The detour route for the closure will utilize Dicke Road, Aboite Center Road, West Jefferson Boulevard, and Getz Road.
The Covington Road Trail project is a 0.9-mile extension of the 4.1 mile-long Covington Road Trail that currently stretches from the schools at West Hamilton Road to Hadley Road. This extension will provide connectivity to Covington Plaza and Time Corners, as well as a sidewalk along the east side of Getz Road that travels north to the Illinois Road corridor.
