The City of Fort Wayne has installed additional Blue Star Banners to honor and recognize residents and government employees who are actively deployed.

The following individuals are being honored with newly installed banners:

Chief Petty Officer Christopher Lomont, U.S. Navy

Private First Class Jordan Farrow, U.S. Army

Technical Sergeant Tim Barr, U.S. Air Force

Sergeant Lee Olivarez, U.S. Army

Returning banners include:

Staff Sergeant Daniel Belcher, U.S. Air Force

1st Lieutenant Bernadette Hargis, U.S. Army

Aviation Specialist Spencer Wampole, U.S. Army

122nd Fighter Wing

The banners are displayed on light poles near the Fort Wayne Veterans Memorial Bridge.

The Blue Star Banner initiative started in May 2014 under the leadership of the late Mayor Tom Henry and continues under Mayor Sharon Tucker's leadership, having recognized more than 100 City of Fort Wayne residents and government employees who have been actively deployed.

Family and friends of deployed military personnel are encouraged to complete an application at www.cityoffortwayne.org/bluestarbanner.
