Fort Wayne Community Schools (FWCS) marked the 37th year of its Study Connection program with the annual Celebration and Recognition Breakfast, honoring both volunteers and students involved in the initiative.

The district also reported an 82.5% passing rate on the 2024-25 IREAD-3 assessment. This is the fifth consecutive year that FWCS has seen growth in this area, surpassing pre-pandemic literacy achievement levels among students.

In preparation for the new school year, FWCS will distribute 380 backpacks filled with school supplies to students. The backpacks are made possible through a donation from Costco and contributions from FWCS employees.

Additionally, FWCS announced it will implement Nutrislice for the 2025-26 school year. The digital platform will enable families to access daily breakfast and lunch menus on smartphones, tablets, or computers.

The district is also preparing for its annual Back-to-School Block Party as it welcomes students back for a new academic year.
