City of Fort Wayne recently issued the following announcement.
Mayor Tom Henry’s Youth Engagement Council (MYEC) will offer all Fort Wayne students, grades 10 – 12, an opportunity to attend a free Peace of Mind and Body symposium on
Wednesday, April 20, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. The symposium will take place at Indiana Tech, in Andorfer Commons, 1600 E. Washington Blvd.
MYEC students organized the symposium to increase awareness of mental health and encourage a fun and interactive discussion about it, as well as providing some techniques
and resources that may help youth who are struggling with their mental health, or know someone who is. Through guest speakers and professionally-led breakout sessions,
attendees will both learn about mental health and participate in activities that encourage awareness of the many factors that can affect mental health. Some of these factors are:
diversity, food insecurity, climate, art, music and individual background.
