April 23 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
To celebrate Autism Awareness month, Bi-County Services is inviting the community to a free showing of the movie” Please Stand By”.
Concessions will be available for purchase, with the proceeds going to support the Autism Alliance in Fort Wayne. A panel discussion on how autism is depicted in the film will be held after the show.
“Please Stand By” starts Dakota Fanning as Wendy Wolcott, a young woman with autism who is writing a “Star Trek” movie script she wants to submit to a contest.
When circumstances at her group home in Northern California lead to her missing the mailing deadline for the contest, she secretly leaves home with her dog, Pete, hoping to find a way to get to Los Angles in time to deliver the script in person.
