Today, Congressman Jim Baird (IN-04) issued a statement regarding the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Trump v. United States.
"I applaud the U.S. Supreme Court for its decision in Trump v. United States affirming that presidents have immunity for official acts," Baird stated. He further criticized the actions of prosecutors in President Biden's Department of Justice, asserting that they have "upended the rule of law to go after President Biden’s political opponent ahead of the election in a desperate attempt to cling to power."
Baird described the ruling as "a win for President Trump and the rule of law" and characterized it as a setback for what he termed "the unconstitutional lawfare and the Biden Administration’s weaponization of our justice system."
