Public Works Division recognizes Garcia Concrete for years of service to community

The City of Fort Wayne’s Public Works Division, under the direction of Shan Gunawardena, today recognized Garcia Concrete for its many years of service to the community on local construction projects.

This construction season will mark the final year of Garcia Concrete’s work in Fort Wayne as Manny Garcia and his associates will be retiring.

The Public Works Division presented Garcia Concrete with a certificate of appreciation and wished Mr. Garcia and his team the very best.

Garcia Concrete began operations in 1998 and started working with the City of Fort Wayne in 1999. The company operates multiple crews on projects with a total of 18 employees.

Highlights of neighborhood improvement projects that Garcia Concrete has been involved with include:

- Burning Tree neighborhood

- Deerfield Estates neighborhood

- Pine Valley Phase 1 neighborhood

- Burns Boulevard curbs, approaches, and sidewalk work

- St. Joe Center Road Trail

- Fishing Line Trail

- Liberty Mills Road Trail

- Maple Grove Avenue concrete and sidewalk work

- Numerous alley, sidewalk, curb, and ADA ramp projects
