Senator Jim Banks, representing Indiana's 3rd district in the U.S. Congress since 2017, recently shared his thoughts on various topics through a series of tweets. These tweets touch upon national security, historical remembrance, and economic policy.

On May 6, 2025, Senator Banks emphasized the significance of trade policy as a component of national security under President Biden's leadership. He stated that "@POTUS understands that trade policy is national security policy. Under his leadership, we’re rebuilding our national strength and restoring American prosperity."

Two days later, on May 8, 2025, Senator Banks commemorated Victory in Europe (VE) Day by honoring American heroes who sacrificed their lives during World War II. He tweeted: "On this day in 1945, millions of Americans took to the streets to celebrate VE Day. Eighty years later, we will never forget the American heroes who died to fight back the forces of evil."

Also on May 8th, he discussed economic issues with journalist Leigh Ann Caldwell at Puck News. He highlighted the importance of tax reforms for working-class families by stating: "Talked with @LACaldwellDC this morning at Puck about the importance of delivering permanent tax cuts for working class families."

Jim Banks was born in Columbia City, Indiana in 1979 and graduated from Indiana University Bloomington in 2004 with a BA.
