Rep. Marlin Stutzman, a U.S. Congressman from Indiana, posted a series of statements on October 22, 2025, addressing violence against Christians in Nigeria and ongoing redistricting efforts in Indiana.

In a post made at 19:09 UTC, Stutzman highlighted the impact of Boko Haram’s insurgency in Nigeria, stating, "Since the jihadist group Boko Haram launched its insurgency in 2009, over 125,000 Christians in Nigeria have been murdered. In just 2025 alone, these jihadists have reportedly murdered over 7,000 Christians and abducted an additional 7,800, destroying roughly 100 churches every". Later the same day, at 20:56 UTC, Stutzman discussed his experience with the Indiana Assembly and current legislative efforts regarding redistricting. He wrote, "I was part of the Indiana Assembly for years. I often speak with members about redistricting. Indiana legislators are taking their vote very seriously and have been carefully studying the issue of redistricting. Excited for our new 9-0 Republican maps. Our country is counting".

Boko Haram has been responsible for significant violence and instability in Nigeria since its insurgency began in 2009. The group has targeted Christian communities and churches as part of its campaign, resulting in large numbers of deaths and abductions over the years.

Redistricting in Indiana is conducted by the state legislature and has historically been a contentious issue, with debates over partisan advantages and representation shaping the process.
