Senator Jim Banks has recently expressed his support for President Trump's trade and economic policies through a series of tweets. The Indiana Senator highlighted various aspects of the administration's agenda, emphasizing its impacts on trade, employment, and legislative achievements.

On July 2, 2025, Senator Banks tweeted about the effectiveness of President Trump's trade agenda. He noted that "President Trump’s America-First trade agenda is working." Banks criticized Vietnam for acting as a conduit for Chinese goods entering American markets at low prices. He credited the leadership of President Trump, Secretary Scott Bessent, and the U.S. Trade Representative for addressing this issue.

The following day, on July 3, 2025, Banks commented on the state of the economy under Trump's presidency. In a tweet he stated that "The Trump economy is here, and the latest numbers prove it:" highlighting positive economic indicators such as job growth in June surpassing expectations with 147,000 new jobs, a decrease in unemployment to 4.1%, and an increase in average hourly earnings by 0.2% month-over-month and 3.7% year-over-year. He urged for the passage of what he referred to as "the Big Beautiful Bill."

Later that same day, Banks announced significant legislative progress with a tweet stating "Big news! The House has just passed President Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill." He outlined key features of the bill: it includes what he describes as the biggest tax cut in American history, measures to secure national borders permanently, record investments in military capabilities, and initiatives aimed at enhancing energy dominance. The bill was set to be presented to President Trump for his approval.
