On July 22, 2025, Banks expressed support for Congressman Michael Waltz’s nomination as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. In his post, Banks stated: "Proud to back @michaelgwaltz for U.N. Ambassador. He’ll carry President Trump’s America First agenda to the U.N. and stand up to the globalists who take us for granted."
Later that day, he commented on federal budget matters by writing: "The more rescissions the merrier" (July 22, 2025).
On July 23, 2025, Banks announced a legislative milestone with the passage of his first bill in the Senate. He wrote: "Proud to announce my first bill passed the Senate last night! It protects American tech from communist China and keeps it out of our adversaries’ hands. Now it’s headed to President Trump’s desk. "
Jim Banks has served as a U.S. Senator since January 2025 after previously representing Indiana's Third Congressional District in the House of Representatives.
