Fort Wayne Community Schools has reported an 82.5% passing rate on the 2024-25 IREAD-3 assessment, marking five consecutive years of improvement and surpassing pre-pandemic levels. The district attributes this to ongoing efforts in student literacy achievement.
A donation from Costco, combined with contributions from Fort Wayne Community Schools employees, will provide 380 backpacks filled with school supplies for students.
The district is also introducing Nutrislice for the 2025-26 school year. This digital platform will let families access daily breakfast and lunch menus on smartphones, tablets, or computers.
As the new academic year approaches, Fort Wayne Community Schools is preparing for its annual Back-to-School Block Party. Additionally, Transition Day is scheduled for Tuesday, July 29, from 8 a.m. to noon for sixth graders entering middle school and ninth graders starting high school.
