14

City of Fort Wayne recently issued the following announcement.

Runners, walkers and wheelchair users are invited to participate in Tread the Trails, a new trails program presented by the City of Fort Wayne, the Fort Wayne Running Club, Fort Wayne Trails and the City of New Haven. The special Tuesday run/walk launch of Tread the Trails will take place at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 26 at Salomon Farm Park’s Old Barn. This event will also officially begin the Trek the Trails season.

After the Tuesday launch, the free Tread the Trails program will take place every other Thursday at 6:00 p.m., beginning May 12, with departure at 6:10. All routes will be 5 kilometers, with the option for a longer or shorter experience if the participant chooses. Similar to Trek the Trails, the starting location will vary each week.  Participants should be prepared with water. Individuals participate at their own risk.

Following the free bike ride, run, and walk, Fort Wayne Trails will host a trails kickoff party at the Old Barn. Tickets cost $10 and are required for admission to the celebration. Details and ticket information can be found at www.fwtrails.org.
