The City of Fort Wayne has announced a public open house for the North Clinton Street Improvements Project. The meeting is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31, at the Dupont Branch Library, located at 536 E Dupont Rd.
The project aims to address the anticipated increase in traffic volumes and resulting congestion on North Clinton Street. Additionally, it seeks to improve connectivity for pedestrian facilities along the street. The project's objective is to ensure that the roadway can handle future traffic volumes effectively and operate at an acceptable level of service by the design year of 2048.
While the project's scope is not fully defined yet, potential plans include widening Clinton Street throughout the project corridor and adding new pedestrian facilities. The purpose of this public information meeting is to provide interested individuals with details about the project location and anticipated schedule, as well as to gather comments before advancing further.
This federally funded project (Des. Nos. 1901703 (Lead), 2300719, 2300720, and 2300721) involves an 80/20 cost-sharing arrangement between the Indiana Department of Transportation and the City of Fort Wayne. It will be constructed in three phases; one phase will be funded by Allen County while two city phases are planned to be bid through INDOT in 2028 and 2030.
