September 5, 2024 - The Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control department announced today that Mistyna (Tyna) Reiter has been named its new Community Relations & Education Specialist - PIO. She began her duties on August 26.

Reiter brings over 10 years of service in animal care and fundraising to her new role. Her experience includes five years with the Allen County SPCA and almost six years with H.O.P.E. for Animals, both organizations which have since merged into what is now known as Humane Fort Wayne.

These prior positions have allowed her to showcase her leadership ability, implementation of new programs, visibility in the community, and development of fundraising opportunities for new donation streams. She looks forward to leading her team and helping to increase awareness about Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control.

Reiter is a Fort Wayne native and supporter of multiple nonprofits within the community including the American Legion Post 409, The United Way of Allen County, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Indiana, St Jude, and many animal care organizations. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Management degree with a minor in communications through Indiana Wesleyan University.

“We are excited to have Tyna as part of our team,” said Amy-Jo Sites, Director of Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control. “Her extensive experience in fundraising, outreach, event planning, and animal welfare allows her to hit the ground running.”
