Today, Congressman Jim Baird from Indiana's 4th District expressed his support for Mike Johnson as Speaker of the House. In a statement following his vote, Rep. Baird highlighted what he described as the detrimental impact of policies under President Biden’s administration.

Rep. Baird stated, "For four years, Hoosiers have struggled under the Biden Administration’s catastrophic policies, which the American people resoundingly rejected in November 2024." He emphasized that with the start of the 119th Congress and President Trump's upcoming inauguration on January 20, 2025, there is a need for leadership aligned with Trump's agenda.

Baird elaborated on his decision by saying, "I was proud to cast my vote for Mike Johnson for Speaker of the House." He expressed confidence in Johnson's capability to collaborate with both the Republican-led Senate and President Trump. According to Baird, their focus will be on reversing regulations from the previous administration, enhancing energy independence, securing borders, and fostering economic growth.

He concluded by expressing optimism about working with Speaker Johnson: "I look forward to working with Speaker Johnson to restore America’s leadership and deliver on the mandate of the American people."
