Jim Banks, a U.S. Congressman representing Indiana's 3rd district since 2017, has recently made several statements via social media concerning key political appointments and industry issues. Banks, who succeeded Marlin Stutzman in Congress and previously served in the Indiana Senate from 2010 to 2016, is known for his advocacy on behalf of American workers and industries.

On February 10, 2025, Banks expressed his support for President Trump's nominee to lead the Department of Labor, Lori Chavez-DeRemer. In his tweet, he emphasized the importance of respecting American workers and declared that under President Trump’s administration, disrespect towards them would cease. He stated his intention to support her nomination both in the GOP HELP Committee and on the House floor. "Just met with President Trump’s choice to lead the Labor Dept, @LChavezDeRemer."

The following day, February 11, 2025, Banks announced that Tulsi Gabbard was set to be confirmed as President Trump's Director of National Intelligence. This appointment marks another significant development within the Trump administration's national security team. "TONIGHT: @TulsiGabbard will be confirmed as President Trump’s Director of National Intelligence "

Later on February 11, Banks highlighted concerns regarding Washington politicians' treatment of the domestic steel industry. He criticized their approach as harmful to workers and disrespectful to America's industrial history. "Too many politicians in Washington take our domestic steel industry for granted."
