Jim Banks, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Indiana's 3rd district, recently took to social media to express his thoughts on various issues. Having served in Congress since 2017 after replacing Marlin Stutzman, Banks has been vocal about national and international concerns.
On February 18, 2025, Banks shared a post regarding a recent meeting with families of hostages held by Hamas in Gaza. He wrote "Last week, I met with the loved ones of hostages being held by Hamas in Gaza. Today we learned Hamas viciously murdered a woman & her two young children. Hamas has committed unspeakable evil, is fueled by an ideology incompatible w/ civilization & must be permanently wiped out."
Later that day, Banks confirmed the appointment of Howard Lutnick as Commerce Secretary under President Trump’s administration. He stated "CONFIRMED: Commerce Secretary @howardlutnick Howard will lead President Trump’s Tariff and Trade agenda, making sure America and our workers are put FIRST."
On February 19, he announced the appearance of Labor Secretary nominee Lori Chavez-DeRemer before the HELP committee. His tweet read "Secretary of Labor nominee @LChavezDeRemer appearing in front of the HELP committee today. The GOP Senate will not stop until all of President Trump’s nominees are confirmed!"
