Today, Congressman Jim Baird of Indiana's 4th District shared his thoughts following President Donald J. Trump's Joint Address to Congress. In his statement, Baird highlighted what he sees as a positive shift in leadership under President Trump compared to the previous administration.

Baird criticized the previous administration, stating, "For four years, Hoosiers were buckling under the numerous crises caused by President Biden and Congressional Democrats’ failed leadership." He expressed optimism about Trump's agenda: "Tonight, President Trump laid out his bold agenda to renew the American dream and restore American excellence."

The congressman praised Trump's efforts on foreign policy and border security. "President Trump has been working at a rapid pace to deliver on his successful America First agenda," Baird noted. He contrasted this with what he described as "President Biden’s failed foreign policy of appeasement."

Baird also pointed out actions taken by Trump in his early days in office. He mentioned executive measures aimed at securing the southern border and enacting the Laken Riley Act, which he claims resulted in record-low illegal border crossings.

Additionally, Baird commended initiatives related to energy independence and regulatory reform. According to him, these steps are designed to enhance American industry competitiveness and reduce costs for citizens.

Summarizing his views on Trump's address, Baird stated: "President Trump’s Joint Address made it clear: under President Trump and House and Senate Republicans’ leadership, this is truly the beginning of the Golden Age of America."
