Senator Jim Banks, representing Indiana’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress since 2017, recently shared updates on social media regarding various topics of interest to his constituents and followers.

On May 21, 2025, Senator Banks noted that gas prices for Memorial Day were expected to be the lowest since 2003. He attributed this change to President Biden's policies, stating "Thanks to @POTUS, gas prices on Memorial Day are set to be the lowest they’ve been since 2003. Promises Made, Promises Kept!"

The following day, on May 22, 2025, he expressed appreciation for meeting with MKG14 (Michael Kidd-Gilchrist) to discuss advocacy for speech therapy. During their interaction, he mentioned a memorable sports event: "Great to visit with @MKG14 today about his advocacy for speech therapy. Thanked him for his important work, but not before I reminded him of IU’s 73-72 victory over his UK Wildcats on December 10, 2011."

Later that day, Senator Banks highlighted legislation aimed at preventing taxpayer funds from being used to pay off student loans for individuals who support terrorist activities. He urged readers to learn more about this initiative by sharing a link with the message "Read more about my bill that prevents taxpayers from paying the student loans of radicals who support terrorists."

Jim Banks was born in Columbia City, Indiana in 1979 and graduated from Indiana University Bloomington in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Prior to serving in Congress, he was a member of the Indiana Senate from 2010 to 2016.
