In a tweet posted at 14:39 UTC, Senator Banks highlighted the issue of visa overstays in the United States. He stated that "The shocking reality is that Mohamed Soliman is not the only illegal alien to overstay his visa here in the United States." He further noted that during Fiscal Year 2023, over 46 million foreigners visited the country, with more than 565,000 suspected of overstaying their visas.

At 14:42 UTC on the same day, Senator Banks referenced historical events related to national security. He mentioned that "The 9/11 hijackers came into the United States legally on temporary visas." According to him, five of these individuals overstayed their visas and were not apprehended by law enforcement despite being pulled over for speeding violations.

Continuing his critique at 14:43 UTC, Senator Banks commented on a recent incident involving an alleged terror attack. He asserted that "The Boulder terror attack never had to happen." The senator attributed this event to what he described as "the Biden administration’s open borders radicalism," suggesting it was a deliberate policy choice.

Jim Banks has served in Congress since succeeding Marlin Stutzman in 2017 and previously held office in the Indiana Senate from 2010 to 2016. Born in Columbia City, Indiana in 1979, he graduated from Indiana University Bloomington with a BA in 2004.
