On June 6, 2025, Senator Banks commented on China's economic situation, stating that "Meanwhile, growth has slowed in China, their youth unemployment is surging, and millions of Chinese manufacturing jobs are at serious risk of loss: This President is remaking the global economy in America’s favor and making China pay for it." He suggests that current U.S. leadership is shifting global economic power back to America.

On June 6th he noted "In the last few months, thanks to this President’s America-first trade agenda: • Honda is going to build its new Civic in Greensburg, Indiana. • General Motors announced it would increase truck production in Fort Wayne. • Eli Lilly plans to invest $27 billion in American." These announcements reflect significant corporate commitments that align with domestic growth initiatives.

Jim Banks was born in Columbia City, Indiana in 1979 and continues to reside there. He graduated from Indiana University Bloomington with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2004.
