On July 26, Stutzman commented on the recent death of a U.S. citizen in Syria, stating, "The Syrian community in northeast Indiana and I are pleased to hear the State Department has started conversations with the Syrian government surrounding the tragic murder of U.S. citizen Hosam Saraya, who was killed in Syria last week. Praying that peace and stability return to". This message follows reports that the U.S. State Department has initiated diplomatic discussions with Syrian authorities after an American citizen was killed in Syria.
The following day, Stutzman shared a brief statement reflecting optimism about the country's current status: "The Golden Age of America is NOW https://t.co/djotw6nZXG" (July 27).
Later on July 27, he posted a religious quotation: “Oh, magnify the Lord with me, And let us exalt His name together.” – Psalm 34:3.
Stutzman's comments come at a time when diplomatic relations between the United States and Syria remain strained due to ongoing conflict within Syria and concerns about Americans' safety abroad.
