Rep. Marlin Stutzman, a Republican from Indiana and member of the House Committee on Financial Services and House Budget Committee, addressed several legislative and personal issues in a series of tweets posted on September 23, 2025.
In his first post, Stutzman discussed potential legislative priorities should Congress pursue additional reconciliation packages. He stated: "Should Congress embark on a second — or even third — reconciliation package this Congress, Rep. Marlin Stutzman (R., Ind.) wants it to include “tax policy items [and] housing policy items,” both of which he told the Washington Reporter in an interview will play heavy roles in the" (September 23, 2025).
Addressing concerns about large asset management firms' influence in politics, Stutzman commented: "Stutzman, who serves on both the House Committee on Financial Services and House Budget Committee, said that he thinks “Congress is going to have to play a role” to ensure that the Big Three passive firms — BlackRock, Vanguard, and State Street — stop playing politics." (September 23, 2025). The three companies referenced—BlackRock, Vanguard, and State Street—are among the largest asset managers globally and have faced scrutiny for their involvement in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) investing practices.
On a more personal note, Stutzman reflected on the assassination of Charlie Kirk. He wrote: "I want to honor Charlie for all that he did,” Stutzman said. For him, Kirk’s assassination hits close to home, because one of his sons ran a Turning Point USA chapter in college. “The legacy that he is leaving is incredible. If any in the left are celebrating his death, shame on" (September 23, 2025). Charlie Kirk was known as the founder of Turning Point USA.
As background information indicates from congressional records and committee assignments as of June 2024—Marlin Stutzman has served multiple terms representing Indiana's fourth district in Congress with significant focus on fiscal policy.
