Rep. Marlin Stutzman, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Indiana, posted several statements on his social media account on October 1, 2025, addressing ongoing political developments and international affairs.

In a post made at 13:00 UTC, Stutzman criticized Democratic lawmakers for their stance in current budget negotiations. He wrote, "Democrats are halting American progress until they get $1.5 trillion in unnecessary spending to advance their radical left agenda. Americans want the clean, non-partisan funding bill that already passed the House— not more debt and political games."

Later that day at 15:51 UTC, Stutzman commented on President Trump's proposal regarding the conflict in Gaza. He stated, "Thrilled that President Trump has brought forth his plan to end the conflict in Gaza. The world is ready for peace—Hamas must choose wisely."

At 16:18 UTC on the same day, Stutzman addressed constituents' concerns about government operations amid a shutdown. He posted, "With today being the first day of government shutdown since 2019, my office is receiving a lot of inquiries about what government services are still available. Please visit my website below to learn what resources will still be operating as usual while Democrats continue to keep"

The federal government experienced its first shutdown since 2019 beginning October 1, 2025. During such shutdowns, many federal agencies either close or limit their operations until Congress passes new appropriations legislation and it is signed into law by the president.

Rep. Marlin Stutzman's comments reflect ongoing partisan debates over federal spending and highlight reactions to both domestic fiscal policy and international diplomacy efforts.
