Senator Jim Banks posted a series of tweets on October 7, 2025, criticizing the Biden administration's handling of the 2020 Census report and questioning its implications for political representation and voting power.

In his first tweet, Senator Banks wrote, "The 2020 census report was prepared and published in 2021. Who was president then, Mike? Someone this dense really shouldn’t be a professor." (October 7, 2025).

Later that day, he continued his criticism by stating, "Biden admin prepared and published the 2020 Census report in 2021. Gavin, why are you pushing so hard to give illegal immigrants more voting power?" (October 7, 2025).

In a third tweet, Senator Banks elaborated further, "In April 2021, the Biden admin published the 2020 Census report after using a shady 'privacy formula' to scramble the numbers and shift political power to Democrats and illegal immigrants. We have to fix this. @Bannons_WarRoom" (October 7, 2025).

The 2020 Census was conducted during the Trump administration, but the final report was released in April 2021, after President Joe Biden took office. The Census Bureau implemented new privacy measures, known as differential privacy, to protect respondents' information. These measures altered some data to prevent the identification of individuals, which has led to debate about their impact on political representation and resource allocation.

Senator Jim Banks represents Indiana in the U.S. Senate and is known for his outspoken positions on election integrity and immigration policy.
