Indiana voter Gary Harbaugh, a resident of Fort Wayne, told the Fort Wayne Times prior to Election Day that he planned to vote in every race available to him.
When asked if the presidential election was important to him, Harbaugh said, "Definitely."
Harbaugh also said that the city council races and state representative races are important to him and he expects them to be close races.
"Well, I think the issue that's fundamentally on the ballot is freedom and whether or not we are going to continue to be a free and capitalist society, or if we're going to go down the road of socialism," he said.
Harbaugh was asked what he would tell someone who didn't know if they were going to vote or not.
"I would tell them that this is an extremely important election and that it is a huge difference to their future as to how this election goes," he said.
Harbaugh's enthusiasm for voting and participating in the process is not uncommon in this election, where record turnouts are occurring across the country. With this year's unique circumstances, votes will begin being counted in the coming days, however, in a process that is likely to last days or weeks.
