Senator Jim Banks shares community engagement and commemoration posts

Senator Jim Banks, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Indiana’s 3rd district since 2017, shared several updates on his social media account recently.

On June 5, 2025, Senator Banks expressed his pleasure at meeting Cody Gardner from Paoli, who was recognized as the Indiana Beef Cattle Association’s Outstanding Young Cattleman for 2025. "Great to visit with Cody Gardner from Paoli today. Cody was recognized as the Indiana Beef Cattle Association’s Outstanding Young Cattleman for 2025 "

In a separate post on June 6, 2025, Senator Banks showed support for a local sports team with a brief exclamation about their victory: "INDIANA PACERS! 1-0"

Later that day, he commemorated the historical significance of D-Day by honoring the soldiers who participated in the Normandy landings during World War II. He wrote: "Today and always, we remember those brave soldiers who stormed the beaches of Normandy 81 years ago. They made the ultimate sacrifice that day so that freedom would never die. Their bravery will never be forgotten."

Jim Banks has been active in public service since he first served in the Indiana Senate from 2010 to 2016 before transitioning to his current role in Congress. Born in Columbia City, Indiana in 1979 and an alumnus of Indiana University Bloomington (Class of '04), he continues to reside in Columbia City.
