Fort Wayne Community Schools (FWCS) will recognize the important role that parents and caregivers play in education by honoring families from across the district. The district is organizing an event to celebrate parent and caregiver involvement, highlighting their contributions.

Abbett Elementary School, a part of FWCS, is marking its 75th anniversary with a rededication ceremony and celebration.

In another development, FWCS has partnered with seven local colleges and universities to form the Higher Education Coalition. This partnership aims to increase opportunities for FWCS students to pursue higher education.

Additionally, a tentative two-year agreement between FWCS and the Fort Wayne Education Association (FWEA), which represents teachers, was introduced at the Oct. 13 meeting of the Board of School Trustees.

Study Connection, a program designed to support students through community connections, is celebrating its 37th year at its annual Celebration and Recognition Breakfast.
