Rep. Marlin Stutzman, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, recently commented on developments regarding Syria and religious freedom through a series of posts on his official Twitter account.

On November 9, 2025, Stutzman shared a biblical passage, quoting “Then we will not turn back from You; Revive us, and we will call upon Your name.” — Psalm 80:18.

The following day, he addressed the visit of Syrian President al-Sharaa to the White House. In his post dated November 10, 2025, Stutzman stated: "Syrian President al-Sharaa visiting the @WhiteHouse today shows religious freedom has a real chance of flourishing in Syria. Since returning to Congress, I have prayed and worked for this moment where we can see progress in the country. Hoping to see a positive meeting today!"

Later that same day, Stutzman referenced remarks attributed to President Trump about Syria's future: “We want to see Syria be successful” - @POTUS I agree with President Trump, we all want a safe and prosperous Syria. That starts with securing religious freedom and meeting the needs of the Syrian people. Excited to see this relationship continue to grow closer in the future! https://t.co/GneVAPl9Uz

These statements come as diplomatic relations between the United States and Syria have drawn renewed attention due to high-level meetings at the White House. Stutzman's emphasis on religious freedom reflects ongoing concerns among U.S. lawmakers about human rights conditions in Syria.
