Senator Jim Banks Marks Veterans Day with Tributes and Recognition in Indiana
Senator Jim Banks, who represents Indiana in the U.S. Senate, marked Veterans Day on November 11, 2025, by posting a series of messages honoring military service members and participating in commemorative events in Fort Wayne.
In his first post of the day, Senator Banks expressed gratitude to veterans: "Happy Veterans Day to all who’ve served. Thank you for your courage and sacrifice. Freedom isn’t free " (November 11, 2025).
Later that afternoon, he shared details about presenting a prestigious military honor: "I was honored to present SPC Robert Drudy with the Purple Heart in Fort Wayne today with @FortWayneMayor. He was wounded when his vehicle was hit by an IED in Iraq in 2008. There’s no better day than Veterans Day to recognize his courage and share this moment with his family." (November 11, 2025).
In a subsequent message posted that evening, Senator Banks welcomed a high-ranking military official to Indiana: "Welcome to Fort Wayne, @SECNAV! Honored to have the Secretary of the greatest branch of the military here in Indiana on Veterans Day! " (November 11, 2025).
Veterans Day is observed annually on November 11 across the United States as a federal holiday dedicated to honoring all individuals who have served in the armed forces. The Purple Heart is awarded to U.S. military personnel who are wounded or killed while serving.
