Teams led by community volunteers will clean, paint, and improve the landscaping at eight Fort Wayne Community Schools buildings from 8 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, July 17. This initiative is part of a special Day of Caring sponsored by United Way of Allen County.

Additionally, Fort Wayne Community Schools will host its annual ignitED conference for educators on the same day. The technology and innovation event will take place from 7:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Northrop High School, located at 7001 Coldwater Road.

In other developments, the Fort Wayne Community Schools Board of School Trustees welcomed Antonette “Toni” Payne during a swearing-in ceremony held on Monday, June 24.

After nearly two years of renovation that doubled the size of Levan Scott Academy, the school will open its doors to the public for tours of the new education space. The community open house is scheduled from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12.

Fort Wayne Community Schools is also sponsoring SUN Meals or the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), which provides free meals to all children ages 18 and younger.
