Shambaugh Elementary opens time capsule from 1994 at public event

Shambaugh Elementary School is inviting the public to participate in a special event on Friday, October 25. The school will host an open house from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., during which community members can view the contents of a time capsule and reflect on life in 1994.

In other news, Fort Wayne Community Schools recently welcomed over 50 community members into its schools as guest principals for the annual Principal for a Day event on October 16. This initiative allows participants to experience a day in the life of a school principal.

Additionally, Fort Wayne Community Schools will take part in National Walk & Roll to School Day, promoting healthy habits among students and staff.

Harrison Hill Elementary will mark a significant milestone by celebrating its centennial year of providing education to students. This celebration aims to honor the school's long-standing tradition of learning and community involvement.

The Fort Wayne Community Schools Board of School Trustees has reviewed the proposed budget for 2025. The budget includes a slight increase; however, the tax rate is anticipated to decrease, as discussed during their meeting on Monday, September 9.
