Fort Wayne schools honor veterans with district-wide activities

Fort Wayne Community Schools is set to commemorate Veterans Day with various activities and events across the district. The initiatives will include students paying tribute to veterans within their families, performing patriotic music, and celebrating military careers.

Shambaugh Elementary has invited the public to an evening Open House from 6-7:30 p.m. on Friday, October 25. Attendees will have the chance to explore the contents of a time capsule and reflect on life in 1994.

In addition, Fort Wayne Community Schools will host more than 50 community members as guest principals for its annual Principal for a Day event on October 16.

The district also plans to participate in National Walk & Roll to School Day. Furthermore, students, staff, community members, and alumni will gather to mark a century of education at Harrison Hill Elementary.
